Itinerary
We will pick up you from the Airport and transfer you to your hotel or riad and help you with check-in formalities.
We will collect you from your hotel at 09h00. We then make our way to the Tizi’n’Test pass over a beautiful mountain road. On our way we will stop to visit the 11th century Tinmel Mosque, one of the very few mosques open to non-muslims in Morocco. We then start our descent towards the plateau, winding our way through beautiful argan forests and almond plantations. We will lunch in Taroudant and you will have time to visit this wonderful imperial city. Our journey continues to Agadir, where we will spend the night.
After your delicious and typical Moroccan breakfast, we will head to Sidi Ifni, a Berber town that has extremely beautiful beaches. We will stop on the way in Tiznit, which is known as the center of silver jewellery and daggers. In the afternoon we will arrive at Sidi Ifni, where you will have time to enjoy the white sandy beaches. Dinner and overnight accommodation in a hotel.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will say goodbye to the ocean and the beaches. We make our way along the Anti-Atlas mountains until we reach Tafraout. Dinner and overnight accommodation in a hotel in (or near) Tafraout.
Depending on the accommodation, you can enjoy your breakfast facing the magnificent Anti-Atlas mountain range. Your journey now turns into an adventure as we go off-road through the wild mineral landscapes, to the town of Tata and then on to Foum Zguid. At Foum Zguid, you could believe that you are in the middle of Mars. The landscapes are bare with views as far as the eye can see. Wide and dried up rivers tell us a lot about the long summers and drought. It is one of the gateways to the desert and that’s where we head now. We make our way to Erg Chigaga, located in the heart of the sand dunes. At the edge of the dunes, we will find camels and Touareg cameleers waiting to take us on our trek into the desert while the sun sets. We will spend the evening in our Bedouin camp and dine around the campfire under the stars.
You will be awakened before dawn so that you are ready for a camel ride over the Chigaga Dunes, while the sun appears over the horizon. We will take you to a comfortable hotel, where you will be able to take a shower and enjoy breakfast. Once you have recharged your batteries, we will make our way towards Zagora. We pass by the little town of M’hamid El Ghizlane with its beautiful oasis, set among the sand dunes. We will later have lunch in the lively town of Zagora, another gateway to the desert. If there is time, we can visit Tamegroute with its impressive library. Now it’s time to make our way up the impressive Draa Valley, also called the valley of a thousand kasbahs. It is the biggest and possibly the most beautiful palm grove in all of Morocco and follows the course of the river Draa that is lined with hundreds of kasbahs. We will arrive in Agdz in the late afternoon.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will be able to visit the ancient and very well-preserved Kasbah of Tamnagoult. There are some beautiful hiking trails in this region and we will take some time to discover the local flora and fauna. Depending on our itinerary we can have a picnic lunch at a lovely waterfall, before we make our ways to the imperial city of Ouarzazate , “the Hollywood of Africa”. Its beautiful landscapes have attracted many world class movie producers. You have the choice between visitg the Kasbah of Taourirt or a visit to the cinema studios. Dinner in our hotel in Ouazarzate.
After breakfast you can enjoy some free time to wander around the city, before we start the last lap of our journey. We will stop on the way to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then it’s time to cross the Atlas Mountains and the stunning Tizi’n’Tichka pass (2,260 meters high), with breathtaking views and picturesque berber villages. Arrival in the late afternoon in Marrakech. Dinner and overnight accommodation in a Riad.
